Foreign nationals may not be interested in buying property, especially for apartment units in Indonesia, although the rules of ownership so the government revised. "Foreigners prefer to buy rather than rent housing," says property expert Tony Eddy in the discussion on property ownership for foreigners in Jakarta on Thursday.

Tony says, foreigners usually do not bother they've rented an apartment units through the company where he worked. "They do not want to take risks had entrusted money to developers but promised apartermen units not being done," he said.

According to him, even if foreigners usually have to buy an apartment is usually a second hand (secondary) rather than an apartment first hand (primary).

Tony says, if in Singapore there is no guarantee for the people who buy apartments for that money will be refunded the money was not paid to the developer, such as Indonesia, but placed direkening shelter (escrow account).

Meanwhile, property law expert, Erwin Kallo said, learned of the property sold in Singapore apartment building just to be different with Indonesia which attach earth elements.

"So in Indonesia, which sells for an apartment that has the status of property rights, the public rarely interested in an apartment with a status of use rights," he explained.

According to him, with clear regulations in Indonesia may not foreigners buying property because it uses proprietary and may not sell the property with different certificates.

"If wearing a foreign property to also not be applied because it clashes with the Constitution which states 'land and wealth in the countries it occupied and used for the prosperity of its people'," he said. "If this is opened, the alien will be free to own land in Indonesia including the islands," explained Erwin.

He suggested, if it wants to make better regulations on procedures for foreign nationals who would buy an apartment in Indonesia. "Be more specific," he said again
